Respite

Bode Lawal Sakoba Dance Theatre presents

Respite

The first UK Post Traditional Dance Theatre, touring a new exciting piece 'Respite' which reflects our hopes and fear as we struggle to survive in the ever-changing world full of contrasting, lyrical and seemingly chaotic gestures.

Respite challenges the status quo and urges us to stop and take a look!

Award winning choreographer Bode Lawal uses his proprietary 'post-traditional' dance technique to engage the audience and to increase awareness of their surroundings.

Music composed by Tunde Jegede and directed by Euton Daley MBE.

Also touring is the currently acclaimed Okan Nijo (Meaning One) which reflects the pioneering 'post-traditional' dance language's aim at unifying world multi-cultural dance genres, and a new short solo entitled 'Boreas' The Greek god of Northern Winds, choreographed for Bode Lawal by Peter Coenen, ex Rambert dancer now the Director of Dance Academy at Calderdale College of Performing Arts- Halifax.
