Written by Stephen Wyatt
Cast: Jim Fish, Kinny Gardner and Tinca Leahy
Directed by Caroline Parker
Designed by Chris de Wilde

Set in a brightly coloured Japan of 1885, 'The Mikado' is the most popular of the Victorian operetta creations by Mr W SGilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan, and in this vibrant and fast moving new version it is given the full Krazy Kat treatment featuring Sullivan's music, puppets, masks, dance, song and, of course, fully integrated sign language.

'A Victorian Mikado' is set backstage after the final rehearsal, the story of this new 'Japanese' operetta is re-enacted and re told by the stage crew of the Savoy Theatre, but do they think it will prove a success?

Using whatever props and costumes come to hand, the three actors give an insight into the hazards and excitements of Victorian Theatre life.
