An Exhibition of Stained Glass by Debora Coombs.
October 8th - November 25th
Mon-Fri 10am-6pm and during performances
Debora trained at Edinburgh College of Art, Swansea and the Royal College. She joined the teaching staff at Central under Amal Ghosh in the late 1980s. In 1995 she was commissioned by Archbishop William Levada to create new windows for the renovated St Mary's (Roman Catholic) Cathedral at Portland Oregon. This 3 year project involved designing and making 20 stained glass windows on the themes of American Sainthood and the Sacraments. During this time, Coombs and her husband Richard Criddle decided to emigrate to the USA and settled in Reedsboro, Vermont. Since then she has exhibited her work widely and completed several more prestigious commissions in the USA.
She will be talking about this work and her exhibition panels at the opening on Thursday October 8th.
