Renown photographer René Burri will present a lecture on his extensive work in Cuba; from his iconic portraits of Che Guevera to his more recent studies of Castro's Cuba in the early 90's.
René Burri's infamous image of Che Guevera is instantly recognised the world over. He has spent considerable time in the country and has been a frequent visitor since the 1960's, when he first shot the then Minister of Industry, Ernesto 'Che' Guevera.
The talk is held in conjuction with the exhibition "Cuba: 50 Years of Revolution" at the Magnum Print Room. The exhibition marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Cuban revolution and includes relatively unknown vintage photographs by Andrew St George and Bob Henriques, plus contemporary photographs by Elliott Erwitt, Alex Webb, Chris Anderson and David Alan Harvey.
