Frankenstein

Youth Music Theatre: UK transfers to London its stunning new music theatre production of Frankenstein developed at the Barbican and Theatre Royal in Plymouth. The production is written and composed by Theatre Royal Plymouth Associate Directors Nick Stimson and Jimmy Jewell, whose production of NHS - The Musical also reaches the West End later this year.

Reaching into the dark heart of the terror but with an added and unexpected twist, the writers have created a superb new production placing the classic story against the chilling background of a Geneva freak show in the early nineteenth century. Murder, horror, loss of innocence and an unstoppable voyage into the darkest recesses of the human soul overwhelm all those involved. This version presents a very different kind of 'monster' from that normally associated with the book; indeed it sets to right some of the misconceptions created by the 1931 Hollywood film and subsequent adaptations.

Production sponsored by the NASUWT - National Association of Schoolmasters/Union of Women Teachers
